Saturday I went out to the woods again to explore other parts of the Kurjenrahka National Park nearby Turku where I went already 2 weeks ago for a hiking trip. First, I explored the bird tower at Vajosuo and then I went to Takaniitunvuori which is located west to Savojärvi.
I started the first part of my hike in Vajsuo.
I followed the red Kuhankuonon Retkelyreitistö band which I found along the trail.
There has been mushrooms as well but I noticed that most of the mushrooms died already or are in the process of dying.
The trail was covered with leafs and their colour turned already black. Nature is preparing for the winter.
Well marked trails. I followed Luontotorni.
Along the well prepared trail.
Having a short break in a shelter. On my wrist you can see my new Suunto Ambit3.
The bird tower is getting closer.
And then I found the bird tower.
Wide open space – perfect for observing birds.
Time to leave the bird tower.
To hike back to the parking space.
After I left my car in Pukkipalon, I continued my hike. The area is covered with hills which makes hiking more exciting.
Small bridges are crossing my way.
I follow the trail towards Takaniitunvuori.
A sign that I am in the offical part of the National Park again.
Again a bridge.
Tree tops are swinging over me.
Just silence and the noise of the trees.
Then it’s getting brighter when I reached a swamp.
Nice color combination.
Quite may fallen trees on my way.
Walking a hill upwards.
And then I reached Takaniitunvuori which is a quite nice place on top of a hill / rock.
From here I followed the trail to the Nuotiopaikka.
Where I rested for a while on a fire place.
And then continued my hike on the way back to Pukkipalo on a different trail than the one I came from.
Crossed a small bridge.
Those bridges are quite slippery when they are wet after the rain. Here you can see my Inov-8 Roclite 295.
I reached Huhtaniitunmäki. There is a bench on the top of a rock where you can enjoy the scenery.
The bench has some carvings.
Then I found an area covered with little rocks.
And finally reach Pukkipalo where I parked my car. Below the map with the second part of my hike from Pukkipalo to Takaniitunvuori.
